In response to growth in the North American market, the utilities-focused technology firm is building a robust local delivery and support organization.

So far in 2016, Itineris has added 33 in-house professionals to its North American UMAX team, including new senior executives Burrell Kilmer as General Manager for UMAX®— the company’s flagship customer information system (CIS) solution—and Byron King as VP of Operations.

General Manager UMAX, North America

As GM for UMAX North America, Kilmer brings to the new position nearly 30 years of utility industry experience, including leadership tenures with Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE), Accenture and Navigant.

After 17 years with BGE, Kilmer moved into to the consulting arena as Managing Director of Accenture’s North American Utility practice for 13 years and then Managing Director of Navigant’s energy-utilities group. In these roles he helped utilities navigate the emergence of renewables, distributed generation, Smart Grid, evolving customer expectations and new regulations.

At Itineris, Kilmer will oversee all North American operations related to Itineris’ UMAX customer information system (CIS) business line, including operations, delivery and support and business development.

I’ve been fortunate to have a front-row seat to some of the biggest evolutions in our industry in the last 30 years,” noted Kilmer, “and today energy and water utilities continue to face new challenges and opportunities, from diversified energy portfolios to the biggest shifts in customer relationship dynamics the industry has ever seen. I look forward to drawing from my experiences to help Itineris’ clients modernize their customer facing technology and operations for the next 30 years.

VP Operations, North America

Byron King joins Itineris as vice president for North American operations, bringing with him more than 16 years’ experience delivering major IT change programs—focused on SAP technologies—and leading professional services teams in both public and private sectors.

Prior to Itineris, King established Thompson Reuters’ Global Compliance Reporting practice and served as the division’s global director of professional services, building on his prior role as head of professional services for the firm’s ONESOURCE tax software product.

At Itineris, King will focus on building a more robust local support and delivery organization as Itineris’ customer base in North America continues to expand.

Recruiting Talent for North American Growth

Kilmer and King’s new roles are the latest additions in a series of hiring as Itineris builds a local delivery and support organization to keep up with its growing client base, including the addition of more than 30 local, full-time UMAX-focused employees so far in 2016.

Among the additions of project managers, functional and technical consultants, testers, and developers, Itineris has added senior managers Jamie Houghton, formerly with Cogsdale Corporation, as product manager for North America and Paul Mullins, from NorthStar Utilities Solutions, as service delivery manager. The company sees no sign of slowing down its talent acquisition.

To support our goals in North America, we have focused on hiring industry veterans to build a local UMAX team and then augment that team with experienced resources from our global headquarters that have deep UMAX product knowledge, all to ensure quality service delivery while growing our local UMAX capabilities,” explained Itineris Founder and CEO Edgard Vermeersch.

With our growing base of North American UMAX clients and a robust pipeline of prospective clients, the time is right to establish a broader local leadership team to drive our business growth in North America. Burrell, Byron and the many other talented professionals we have hired position Itineris to deliver strong UMAX solutions and service for our North American utilities clients.
