DEURLE, BELGIUM, 26 April 2016 – Itineris NV, a customer information system (CIS) and ERP solutions provider focused on the utility industry, has joined Microsoft’s Global Independent Software Vendor (ISV) program, an elite sub-group of technology partners that help Microsoft shape strategic direction and increase product value in their respective industries.

The partnership, resulting from a year-long vetting and contract process, will allow Itineris to better leverage Microsoft solutions and developer tools to increase the value of its UMAX CIS solution, built on the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP platform, to utility customers.

The move also gives Microsoft a strategic enterprise partner in the energy and water industries, allowing Microsoft to leverage Itineris’ expertise in utility operations as it shapes the future of its ERP solutions.

Microsoft builds cutting-edge solutions which its partners can customize to meet their customer needs. Global ISV Itineris is an example of a partner that is using their industry knowledge to add and deliver that value back to our utility customers,” said Microsoft General Manager, Dynamics AX R&D Daniel Brown.

Highlights of the Global ISV contract include closer alignment of development cycles, with Itineris having advanced access to Microsoft’s development process but also committing to product compatibility with Dynamics AX updates. But the terms also mean that Itineris will have a wider range of Microsoft development resources to leverage and a greater voice in Microsoft’s development process.

When you’re crafting a solution for a specific user group’s needs—in our case energy and water utilities—it helps to build on a platform that accelerates product performance and agility to change with market needs. That is why Itineris has, from the beginning, built on Microsoft Dynamics AX. This strengthening of our partnership with Microsoft shows our commitment to the platform, and their commitment to us,” said Edgard Vermeersch, founder and CEO of Itineris.
